Actor Leonardo DiCaprio and the head of his foundation had a meeting with President-elect Donald Trump about creating new jobs in saving the environment and how they will help the economy.
Terry Tamminen, the CEO of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation informed about the meeting which took place on Wednesday at Trump Tower.
Tamminen and DiCaprio explained Trump, his team and his daughter Ivanka how this environmental project about renewable, clean energy will boost the economy with millions of new jobs.
“Today, we presented the President-elect and his advisors with a framework — which LDF developed in consultation with leading voices in the fields of economics and environmentalism — that details how to unleash a major economic revival across the United States that is centered on investments in sustainable infrastructure”, Tamminen said in his statement. “Our conversation focused on how to create millions of secure, American jobs in the construction and operation of commercial and residential clean, renewable energy generation.”

This meeting followed after Trump’s decision to pick Scott Pruitt as head of the Environmental Protection Agency. Pruitt stands for solving the problems caused by climate change and opposes Obama’s actions regarding global warming.
DiCaprio is known for his fierce fight and dedication to fighting climate change and protecting and preserving wildlife. In his documentary, ‘Before the Flood’, he presents a riveting account of the dramatic changes now occurring around the world due to climate change, as well as the actions we as individuals and as a society can take to prevent catastrophic disruption of life on our planet.
As continuation of their discussion, DiCaprio gave a copy of the film to Ivanka and Donald Trump.
