Before the election, Stephen Baldwin had an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon in which he explained why he believes Donald Trump is fantastic and why he would make a great President. He said he endorsed Trump especially because he isn’t a politically correct politician, that he says what he means and won’t apologize for it, even if he doesn’t say it perfectly.
“He’s saying what he thinks. And he’s, you know, obviously, he said something the wrong way, recently, but what he said has now ripped the scab off of that issue. Everybody’s talking about it. I golfed with about eight hedge fund guys today who said we really like what he’s saying. Hedge fund guys,” Baldwin told Lemon, according to CNN Transcripts.
“Everybody else running for the GOP right now, everybody is going to be politically correct. Not Donald Trump. And I honestly I really think voters and Americans are looking at this guy saying it’s refreshing to hear somebody not be it was, not be a politician and really say what they think. Now, whether you like what he has to say is something else.”
When asked whether it concerns him that Trump has never held a political office, Stephen said, “No, not at all. I think that’s what adds to that very refreshing, honest perspective.”

Also before Trump became President, Stephen, who openly endorsed Trump, shared the conversation he had with his brother Alec. Alec, a Hillary Clinton supporter, skewered Trump in his Saturday Night Live portrayal of the billionaire businessman in the months leading up to the election.
“I had a fun conversation with Alec a couple weeks back, like, literally at his house, home with the kids, floating in the swimming pool, having a good time and he said, ‘So, your boy’s basically handing us this election don’t you think?'” Stephen recalled. “And I went, ‘I got a funny feeling you need to be more prepared for a Trump president than I do a Hillary president.'”
