The illegal immigration issue continues to make headlines. Firstly, there was a federal judge who tried to stop President Trump’s travel ban regarding the prevention of seven countries to enter the U.S., not even for a period of 90 days. But then there was this federal judge in Boston, Nathaniel Gorton, who decided not to renew the temporary restraining order claiming that there’s just no way that the executive order is either a bias against Muslims or showing favoritism toward Christians. This was probably the greatest victory of our President on the immigration front, in the fight for the safety of our nation.
Check out what Vice President Mike Pence has to say about all of this:
“I truly do believe that a majority of the American people are grateful that we have a president who is willing to take decisive action, use the authority he has under the Constitution and the law, to pause with regard to these seven countries and rethink the way that we admit people into America,” he said.
“We live in a dangerous world,” he continued. “I think the American people welcome a president as decisive as President Trump.”
“From the outset of his campaign and administration, the president of the United States has made it clear to put the safety of the American people first. We are going to win this argument.“
The Vice President also asserted that the judge “made the wrong decision” and that the White House would use “all legal means at our disposal“ to help guarantee U.S. citizens their safety.
“The judge’s actions in this case, making decisions about American foreign policy and national security, it’s just very frustrating to the president, to our whole administration, to millions of Americans who want to see judges that will uphold the law and recognize the authority the president of the United States has under the Constitution to manage who comes into this country.”
“There’s simply no question under the Constitution, and frankly under federal law, that the president of the United States has the authority in the interest of national security to determine who has the right to come into this country,” said Pence.
