During the campaign of President Donald Trump, the biggest subject of concern were the families of the victims of illegal immigrants’ crimes. He regularly traveled and visited them and prioritized their cause.
Recently he is boosted with actual help.
Sean Spicer, Press Secretary declared that the development of a new Immigration and Customs Enforcement office is mainly focusing on the victims of crimes done by illegal aliens, and of course helping these families. The office will be helped by victim family members and is one part of Trump’s recent executive order to bolster enforcement of immigration laws .
“This office [Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office] will facilitate the engagement with victims and their families to ensure questions and concerns regarding immigration enforcement efforts are addressed,” claimed Spicer . He also added that the establishment of the office is accomplishing another campaign promise, reports Young Conservatives.
The purpose, as it is stated in the memo from Homeland Security Secretary, John Kelly, is security for the families and to not feel “marginalized and without a voice.”
D. Establishing the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office Criminal aliens routinely victimize Americans and other legal residents. Often, these victims are not provided adequate information about the offender, the offender’s immigration status, or any enforcement action taken by ICE against the offender. Efforts by ICE to engage these victims have been hampered by prior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy extending certain Privacy Act protections to persons other than U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, leaving victims feeling marginalized and without a voice. Accordingly, I am establishing the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office within the Office of the Director of ICE, which will create a programmatic liaison between ICE and the known victims of crimes committed by removable aliens. The liaison will facilitate engagement with the victims and their families to ensure, to the extent permitted by law, that they are provided information about the offender, including the offender’s immigration status and custody status, and that their questions and concerns regarding immigration enforcement efforts are addressed.
Furthermore, Kelly issued an order to the Director of ICE to “reallocate any and all resources that are currently used to advocate on behalf of illegal aliens to the new VOICE Office, and to immediately terminate the provision of such outreach or advocacy services to illegal aliens.”
The American people, innocent families have suffered because of those illegal aliens, it is really amazing to see that our President Trump is doing so much to protect and help them!
