President Trump With A Touching Tribute To Fallen Heroes During His Congress Speech

In the speech for the ages, one moment was more special than all others.

Many will agree that this was one of the most powerful speeches President Trump has ever delivered.

The whole speech was incredible, but by far the most emotional and moving moment was when the President acknowledged the ultimate sacrifice of Ryan Owens, the Navy SEAL killed in the recent Yemen raid, and his widow, Carryn Owens, who was present at the event. With that tribute, Trump honored all slain service members and elevated their status to where it has long belonged.

Trump saying that his “legacy is etched into eternity” and the crowd rising and applauding the tearful widow didn’t leave a single dry eye in America.

Here are Trump’s words, as he reaffirmed the fact that indeed Owens’ sacrifice wasn’t in vain:

“We are blessed to be joined tonight by Carryn Owens, the widow of U.S. Navy Special Operator, Senior Chief William ‘Ryan’ Owens. Ryan died as he lived, a warrior, and a hero — battling against terrorism and securing our Nation.” [applause]

“I just spoke to General Mattis, who reconfirmed that, and I quote, ‘Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemies.’ Ryan’s legacy is etched into eternity, thank you.” [applause]

“For as the Bible teaches us, there is no greater act of love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Ryan laid down his life for his friends, for his country, and for our freedom — we will never forget him.” [applause]

“To those allies who wonder what kind of friend America will be, look no further than the heroes who wear our uniform.”

As reported by Bizpac Review, President Trump met the widow in the hall where Press Secretary Sean Spicer captured a moment in which, he says, Trump embraced Owens:
