The African nation of Angola has decided to put an end of Islam, becoming the first country to completely ban Islam and Muslims from its territory.

“This is the final end of Islamic influence in our country,”

, Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos said Sunday about the ban.

Angola’s ban was first announced by Angolan Minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, who said:

“The process of legalization of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice.”

Silva reportedly said the ban was necessary since Islam is “contradictory to the customs of Angola culture and IT’S A SECT”.

Angola’s population of 16 million is predominantly Christian. Only 80,000-90,000 are Muslims, and the majority of them are migrants from West Africa and families of Lebanese origin.

The crackdown on Islam is a response to Muslim countries in the Middle East who were forcing Christians out from their territories, reports Hillary4prisoner.

Because of what is happening in Europe and elsewhere in Africa, the Angolan government considers Islam to be a cult, not a religion, and therefore mosques are not protected places of worship.

When it comes to radical Islamic extremism there should be no ambiguity, in that common sense should always drive the political discussion, rather than attempting to be ”politically correct” at the expense of the innocent. Angola seem to understand it, and they decided to put the safety of their people and the well-being of their country first. Considering all that is happening in the world, it would be a smart move to follow Angola’s steps in order to save our country from the terrors in the name of Islam.
