Even though the presidential election was held in November 2016, Hollywood celebrities still can’t accept the fact that Donald Trump became the new American president. Because of this, they keep bashing him, saying they don’t want to live in a country where he is president.
Several celebrities stated they will leave the country after Trump takes office, but none of them have actually done that. Recently, they decided to join together and come with an ultimatum to the President.
Rosie O’Donnell, Debra Messing, Ed Asner and Michael Shannon have said they will protest until Trump resigns. They are calling for an all-out strike involving the entire movie industry in order to force Trump to resign. The group’s spokesperson said:
“It’s about time people understood that we’re the ones with the power and that the president is there to serve us, not the other way around. We’re calling for a general strike that would include every single person involved in making motion pictures in Hollywood, starting with the actors and celebrities themselves and encompassing
companies in charge of making props, movie memorabilia and even souvenir shops.”
The group even added an full-page ad placed in the New York Times. The ad reads:
“No! In the Name of Humanity We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!”
It’s funny they think they will make everyone hate Trump. He has a lot of supporters who will always keep his back!
