Country music legend Dolly Parton and her companion Kenny Rogers made a tragic announcement about their future performances. Many of their fans were saddened to hear that, after performing for so long together, their journey has come to an end.
Dolly Parton revealed that she and Kenny Rogers will have their final performance in October.
The huge hits like ‘Islands in the Stream’ and ‘Real Love’ will be heard live for the last time on October 25. Parton explained the decision by revealing that Rogers said that he is tired to continue performing.
Parton and Rogers will perform on October 25 in an all-star farewell show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. On Tuesday they both had their press conference.
“I think we owe it to her to let her go on with her career, but we owe it to me to do it one more time, and we’re going to do that,” said Rogers.
He explained his relationship with Dolly Parton:
“We can go three years without talking to each other and when we get together, it’s like we were together yesterday,” Rogers continued. “We both feel that comfort.”
Dolly Parton also made a comment during a press conference in Nashville, reports Right Forever.
“Performing with Kenny for the last time ever on October 25th is going to be emotional for both of us, but it’s also going to be very special,” Parton said. “Even though Kenny may be retiring, as he fades from the stage, our love for each other will never fade away.”
This will be without a doubt an emotional performance. These two incredibly talented performers have made their mark in history and they will be remembered as great musicians and big American patriots.
