A member of the National Guard was arrested after claiming that he would kill Vice President Mike Pence before his visit to the 9/11 memorial in Pennsylvania.
This Saturday, charges were pressed against William Robert Dunbar, a 22-year old Berlin native, because of his comments before Pence’s trip for the annual observance of the Flight 93 crash.
Richland Township police have stated that the young man was on duty at the Army National Guard Training Center when he said:
‘If someone pays me enough money, I will kill the vice president.’
According to witnesses, this wasn’t the first time Dunbar said something like this. Before going to jail, Dunbar was taken to duty at the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for evaluation. His bail is set to $250,000, reports Daily Mail.
Pence made an appearance at the Shanksville, talking to 1,000 attendees to honor the people who died in the plane crash on 9/11. Back in 2001, 33 passengers and 7 crew members who were on the flight from Newark, New Jersey to San Francisco were killed. Pence said:
‘Without regard to personal safety, they rushed forward to save lives. I will always believe that I and many others in our nation’s capital were able to go home that day and hug our families because of the courage and sacrifice of the heroes of Flight 93.’
