When Donald Trump became President of the United States, he surely inherited quite a mess. But the good news is the only way for President Trump to go is up. And that’s exactly what he’s doing.
Speaking at an Alabama rally for Sen. Luther Strange (R-AL), President Donald Trump minced no words when he went after “little Rocket Man,” Hillary Clinton, and President Barack Obama.
But there was one moment that really stood out.
Trump didn’t forget about former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the NFL, criticizing them for not “respecting the flag.” In fact, Trump gave a piece of advise to all the pi*sed-off fans and told them if they see a player kneeling during the national anthem, to get up and leave the stadium.
Trump even pulled out his signature “You’re fired!” line on everyone who chooses to protest during the national anthem, reports Independent Journal Review. He said:
“We’re proud of our country. We respect our flag. Wouldn’t you love to see one of our NFL owners when someone disrespects our flag to say, ‘Get that son of a b***h off the field right now … he’s fired!’ […]
When you see it, leave the stadium. I guarantee you it will end.
Total disrespect of our heritage, a total disrespect of everything that we stand for. And I know that we have freedoms and we have freedom of choice and many, many different freedoms. You know what? It is still totally disrespectful. And you know when the NFL ratings are down massively, massively.”
Kaepernick refused to stand during the national anthem in a protest against police brutality in August 2016.
While he was widely criticized by those who saw his actions as un-American, unfortunately he also inspired many other athletes to do the same.
Trump also complained that football games have become less violent.
“They’re ruining the game,” he said.
Everyone has the right to express their opinion, but when by doing that they’re disrespecting our country, that’s just wrong and unacceptable!
