Hollywood Actor Jeff Bridges Says He Won’t Join Fellow Celebrities in Attacking Trump

Jeff Bridges is a well-known American actor, singer and producer. Some of the roles that brought him fame were in “The Big Lebowski,” “True Grit,” and “Crazy Heart.”

He is a rare kind of celebrity – he doesn’t want to attack President Donald Trump, which is not something we see really often. He talked to the Associated Press about this, and this is what he said:

“Everybody has something different and unique to contribute to society and with different ways of doing it. Some people will be blatantly out there talking about their disappointments and ridiculing the way President Trump is acting. I’m rooting for him to do well by our country. I’m rooting for him as a human being to do the cool thing.
The health of our children is a wonderful compass that can tell us if our country is going the right direction. That means we’re off course, so I’m rooting for the president to get on course.”

Another celebrity who shared Bridges’ opinion is Matthew McConaughey, reports IJR. Back in 2016, when Trump was elected President, McConaughey said this to the celebrities who attacked him:

“Well, they don’t have a choice now. He’s our president. And, it’s very dynamic and as divisive of an Inauguration and time as we’ve had. At the same time, it’s time for us to embrace and shake hands with this fact. And be constructive with him over the next four years.
So anyone, even those who may strongly disagree with his principles or things he’s said and done — and that’s another thing, we’ll see what he does compares to what he has said — no matter how much you even disagreed along the way, it’s time to think about how constructive can you be.”
