With everything that is currently going on within the country, there are some things that are missed. And given everything, that is easily understood. Take a look around; with the hurricanes, the shooting and everything else, this is a hard time to be living in. Through in the NFL and we have had one of the busiest months on the record. But now we have to throw even more tragedy into the mix.
Two soldiers are confirmed dead and six others are injured after an incident with a military vehicle Friday afternoon at Fort Jackson in Columbia. This has caught an already fatigued nation off guard.
According to reports that came from officials present, the accident involved a military vehicle as well as a certain troop formation. Details at this point are very slim, but more will undoubtedly come in the coming days.
Of the six injured soldiers, two of them were hurt critically, the statement also said. The soldiers that were injured got transported to an undisclosed hospital.
The soldiers that were killed will have their names released after the notification of their next of kin, the statement went on.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the soldiers we lost today and to the families of the injured, they represent the best of our nation and we will endeavor to support all those affected through this difficult time,” said Major General Pete Johnson, a U.S. Army Training Center and Fort Jackson Commander.

Fort Jackson is responsible for around 60% of the women that enter the Army every year. It is very sad to see such a accident happen to such good people. They are trying to protect our nation and it ended so badly. Our hearts go out to the friends and families impacted by this incident.
This is the second time where a fatality has happened at the fort. In 2009, an 18 year old recruit from Wisconsin died from a heatstroke after a march. Since then, most things have been quiet. But that changed today. It is so sad to see these two lose their lives and we wish nothing but the best for those injured.
