We’ve all heard about the NFL protests that have been going on for quite awhile now. NFL players have been protesting against the flag and national anthem, but most of all, against President Donald Trump.

Well, recent reports indicate that these entitled players have influenced a lot more players to start their own protest. This Friday night, the Monroe High School football team decided to kneel while the anthem was played, reports Conservative Tribune.

This enraged two football officials, who decided to wall off the field because they didn’t want to tolerate that kind of disrespect towards their country. The two officials were Ernie Lunardelli, 54, and his son, Anthony, 27.

In an interview for NJ.com, Ernie Lunardelli stated:

“I’m not in favor of anyone disrespecting our country, our flag, the armed forces. What they’re protesting has nothing to do with the national anthem and I’m against it, so I decided to protest for them kneeling and that’s what I did.
Whoever is disrespecting that flag and the national anthem, that’s who I have a problem with. That’s my protest. I don’t care if it’s a baby, if it’s an 80-year-old man, anybody. I don’t care. Any race, color, I don’t care who it is. It’s not the way I was brought up and it pisses me off that people are doing that.”

He went on to say that the cadets who were brought to replace him and his son didn’t have proper certification or training, which is why the game was not made official:

“That game should not count now because they did not have the right personnel on the field. These kids weren’t officially carded and trained, so they’re putting the kids in jeopardy, I’m not.”

Lunardelli also said this about the protest:

“What hurts the most is these kids don’t even know why they’re kneeling. I just don’t understand why this is happening, especially at the high school level. If you’re not happy with being in America, go somewhere else. It’s that simple.”

We completely agree with his statement – if you don’t like what this country stands for, feel free to leave anytime you’d like.
