Everyone knows the real reason behind Robert Mueller’s investigation – digging up dirt that could take down President Trump. That’s why liberals were so ecstatic to hear that Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort has been indicted by White House Special Counsel Mueller. According to the Left, this indictment would mean that Trump’s impeachment is imminent, but they just learned how wrong they all were.
Naturally, it was devastating for the Trump-haring liberals to realize that the indictment does not have anything that even remotely suggests there was any sort of collusion between the Russian government and Trump. In fact, Trump is not even mentioned in the indictment, and all of the charges against Manafort are from before he joined the campaign.
When that plan failed, liberals have gone back trying to do everything in their power to divert attention away from Hillary Clinton’s actual collusion with Russia. They are now going so far as to say that investigating Clinton’s Uranium One scandal is “a crime.”
The mainstream media are even suggesting that Trump is committing a criminal act by even considering an investigation into shady Clinton dealings with the Russians, reports Any Politics. This week, MSNBC legal analyst Paul Butler laughably claimed that it “absolutely is” obstruction of justice for the government to investigate Hillary Clinton and potential links to Russia.
“Would these attempts to distract from the investigation, even attempting to unseal or remove the gag order from an FBI informant in order to further what is essentially a side investigation that they’re pursuing, is that in itself an element of obstruction?” host Joy Reid shockingly asked, showing that she believes selling off 20% of the countries uranium supply to Russia is a “side issue.”
This comes after it was revealed that the indictment against Manafort and his colleague Rick Gates includes 12 separate criminal counts: conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.
The indictment states that Manafort and Gates “generated tens of millions of dollars in income as a result of their Ukraine work.”
Manafort joined Trump’s campaign in March of 2016, but he left it in August of last year due to questionable financial dealings.
