The NFL is having a rough couple of months. It seems like everywhere we turn, there are reports about how their ratings are dropping, their views are at an all-time low, even sponsors have threatened to pull out of their sponsorships. All of that is happening because of the protests against the flag and national anthem prayers have been massively joining. But, it all started with the action of one particular player – Colin Kaepernick.
Last season, Kaepernick played for the San Francisco 49ers. However, this season, because he caused so much controversy, no one in the NFL seems to want to give him a job. It’s totally understandable after seeing what he has done.
Kaepernick, on the other hand, still thinks he’s on the right, so he even filed charges against the NFL, instead of just apologizing for what he has done. Well, these words that were recently said by NFL legend Tony Gonzalez might open his eyes once and for all. This is what Gonzalez had to say:
“He’s done. I don’t think he’ll ever get a chance. Never again…I just don’t think he’s good enough for the headache. I have only one personal thought, really. And I am so disappointed. And I used to love during the fall and winter to watch the NFL on Sunday. And it’s not that I’m some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year, didn’t go anywhere, didn’t do anything. But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach — I will never watch another NFL game.”
We totally agree with Gonzalez – the moment Kaepernick decided not to stand up for the national anthem was the moment his career ended. We know it, everyone knows it, it’s about time that Kaepernick realizes what he has done.
